Beadles.
Mrs. Ellnora P. Beadles, died Saturday at the home of her son, W. O. Beadles, in Murrayville, at the age of 80 years. Her maiden name was Penton and she was born May 2, 1881, in the state of Delaware, near the town of Bethel. When 18 years of age she came with her parents to Illinois and settled near Winchester, at which place she was married to Thomas G. Beadles, Dec. 3, 1884. To this union seven children were born, all of whom survive: Mrs. Mary H. Tilden, Galesburg; George L., Granite City; Thos. J. and W. O. Beadles and Mrs. Ethel M. Wright of Murrayville; John M. of Denver and Mrs. Margaret P. Hamilton of this city. Mrs. Beadles is also survived by one brother, James, and two sisters, Miss Maude H. Penton of Winchester and Mrs. Emma Sheppley of Murrayville; and by twenty-five grandchildren and twelve great grandchildren.
Mrs. Beadles was a sincere Christian woman. When nineteen years of age she was converted at a camp meeting, held at Winchester, and afterward united with the Methodist church. She and her husband were among the charter members in the organizing of a Methodist society at Murrayville. Mrs. Beadles was a woman of strong character, possessing a kind and gentle disposition and was dearly loved by the residents of Murrayville and vicinity.
The funeral will be held at 1:30 o'clock Monday from the Methodist church in Murrayville and interment will be in Bethel Cemetery.
