M. Lorene Stewart, 93, of 873 Grove St. in Jacksonville, died Wednesday evening, Oct. 18, 1995, at the Barton W. Stone Christian Home of Jacksonville.

She was born Jan. 3, 1902, in the Sinclair community of Morgan County, the daughter of L.J. and Laura Parrott Stewart.

She is survived by one brother, Chester Stewart of rural Alexander; five nieces and nephews; and several great-nieces and great-nephews. She was preceded in death by four brothers, Harold L., John "Jack," Myron P. "Jim," and Russell "Dick" Stewart; and a sister, Ollie Mae Stewart.

Miss Stewart was a life long member of Berea Christian Church and the Berea Ladies Aid. She served many years as a Sunday School teacher and a church secretary. She was employed for 17 years in the dietary department at Passavant Area Hospital.

Funeral services will be held 10:30 a.m. Saturday at Berea Christian Church with burial in Berea Cemetery. Friends may call after 3 p.m. today at the Gillham-Buchanan Funeral Home in Jacksonville, where the family will meet friends 6-8 p.m. Memorials are suggested to the Berea Christian Church, Berea Cemetery or Barton W. Stone Christian Home.
