& Ella L. Rees Wilson
Rev. George Andrew Wilson, son of James S. and Phoebe Caroline Neal Wilson, was born in Wayne County, Ill., July 23, 1860. He graduated from Southern Illinois College, Enfield, Ill., took his Masters Degree from Lincoln College, Lincoln, Ill. He received his Theological education at Lebanon, Tenn. As has been mentioned on page 55, Mr. Wilson first came to Rock Creek in August, 1908, and remained three and a half years. He called the attention of the church at large to the rural work and Rock Creek came into prominence as a worth while rural church. After about four years' absence, he returned to Rock Creek where he has labored earnestly and acceptably to the present time. Mr. Wilson is a man of abounding faith in Christ, and a man of the highest ideals. He is a diligent student and a deep thinker. After conversation with him neither saint nor sinner leaves his presence without feeling an uplift toward a higher life. Of his wife, Mrs. Ella Rees Wilson, it may well be said that in helpfulness she is everything to everybody. An earnest Christian heart, she is faithful in all the duties of life. Her home is a place of refreshment to those who enter it. In many respects she may be likened to the woman spoken of in Prov. 31. "Let her own works praise her in the gates."
