Alwin Hackman

ATHENS - Alwin "Bo" Hackman, 90, of Athens died Thursday, Nov. 29, 2001, at his home.

He was born Nov. 19, 1911, in Athens, the son of Julius and Mary Zurstadt Hackman. He married Katherine Parkinson in 1931. A son, Harold "Fuzz" Hackman, preceded him in death.

Mr. Hackman was a farmer in the Athens area, retiring in 1985. He was a member of Immanuel Lutheran Church in Athens and the Menard County Farm Bureau. He was a 62 year member and past president of the Menard County Mutual Fire Insurance Board and was past president of the Indian Point Cemeterey Board.

Survivors: wife, Katherine; a son, David Hackman of Springfield; seven grandchildren; and 16 great-grandchildren.

Services: 11:30 a.m. Saturday, Mott and Henning Funeral Home in Athens, the Rev. Richard Becker officiating. Burial: Indian Point Cemetery.
