 
George A. Culver was the son of Edward H. & Annie M. (Johnson) Culver. According
to my mother, he tended to be a bit eccentric - he had a dog he would let eat at the table with the
family. The dog had his own place setting and everything. His mother put him through medical school, although
when he had completed school, he didn't work. Instead he insisted on staying home and taking care of his mother.
Although he had the degree, he never actually practiced medicine.
