Mary I. Emmett
PETERSBURG - Mary Irene Budd Emmett, 85, of Petersburg, died Sunday, March 3, 2002, at 1:32 a.m. at Memorial Medical Center.
She was born December 15, 1916, in Williamsville, the daughter of Edward and Pearl VanLandingham Budd. She married George M. Emmett on June 24, 1941, in Louisiana, Mo.; he preceded her in death on December 27, 1985.
Mrs. Emmett worked at Menard Convalescent Center and in home nursing. She was a member of the Petersburg Church of Christ, Royal Neighbors of America and Petersburg Senior Citizens.
Surviving are a daughter, Dorothy Kissick of Springfield; a stepson, Edward Emmett of Marseilles; a granddaughter, Lauri (husband, Jeff) Franklin; four step-grandchildren, Craig and Robert Emmett, Connie Jackson, and Cheryl Kaugman; nine great-grandchildren; a sister, Velda Routh of Champaign, two half sisters, Betty Wagner of Mendota and Margaret Clift of Pleasanton, Texas; and a brother, Jack Budd of San Bernardino, Calif.
Services were held at 1 p.m. Wednesday, March 6 at Petersburg Church of Christ, the Rev. Eddie Bratton officiating. Burial was in Hall Cemetery in Athens.
Hurley Funeral Home in Petersburg was in charge of arrangements.
Memorials may be made to Petersburg Church of Christ Building Fund or Royal Neighbors Dogs for the Deaf.
