BETTERS, WILLIAM E.

William E. Betters 79, of Greenview died at 2:23 p.m. Friday at Memorial Medical Center.

Services will be at 10:30 a.m. Monday at Conrad Funeral Home, Greenview. Burial will be in Elmwood Cemetery.

Surviving are his wife, Helen; three daughters, Mrs. Artie (Louise) Pugliano of Kewanee, Mrs. Barbara Mullen of Pontiac, Mich., and Connie Betters of Greenview; one son, William F. of Springfield; one brother, Halsey of Au Sable Fork, N.Y.; one sister, Alzada Sousey of Au Sable Fork, N.Y.; and six grandchildren.


BETTERS, HELEN L. BANISTER

Helen L. Betters, 71, of Greenview died Friday, Dec. 5, 2003, at Graham Hospital in Canton. She was born Dec. 16, 1931, in Greenview, the daughter of Alva Franklin and Artie Conn Banister. She married William E. Betters in 1953 in Pontiac, Mich.; he died in 1987.

Mrs. Betters was a lab technician at St. Joseph Mercy Hospital in Pontiac, Mich., for many years. She was a member of Lewistown Christian Assembly, Greenview Ladies Amvets Auxiliary Post 179 and was a past member of Greenview Christian Church.

Survivors: three daughters, Artie L. (husband, Jim) Pugliano of Kewanee, Barbara Mullen of Pontiac, Mich., and Connie Wells of Greenview; a son, William F. (wife, Johanne) Betters of Ashland; nine grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; five brothers, Harold (wife, Barbara) and Gale (wife, Alice) Banister, both of Glasford, Bernard (wife, June) Banister of Little America, George (wife, Delores) Banister of Greenview and Ronald Banister of Davis Junction; and several nieces and nephews.

Services: 10 a.m. Monday, Hurley Funeral Home in Greenview, the Rev. Robert Hanson and the Rev. Jerry Ford officiating. Burial: Elmwood Cemetery in Greenview.


WELLS, JOHN RAYMOND "JACK"

John "Jack" Raymond Wells 45, of Greenview died at 10:40 a.m. Monday at St. Elizabeth Hospital in Belleville. He was born Jan. 24, 1947, in Peoria. He married Connie Betters in 1990 in Greenview.

Surviving are his wife, Connie; three sons, Matthew at home, Anthony of Springfield, and Daric of Tulsa, Okla.; two daughters, Phaedra Wells at home and Jamie Dobson of Carlinville; three grandchildren; mother, Barbara Smith of Springfield; a brother, Dennis Smith of Springfield; and three sisters, Mary Castleman, Susan Lowe and Cynthia Blair, all of Springfield.

Services will be at 11 a.m. Thursday at Styninger Funeral Home, Greenview, with the Rev. Dale Sanders officiating. Burial will be in Elmwood Cemetery, Greenview.


BANISTER, LOREN L.

Loren L. Banister 61, of Glasford, formerly of Greenview, died Sunday at his residence.

Survivors: wife, Mable; a son, Timothy Banister of Glasford; a daughter, Charlene Riley of Peoria; two grandchildren; five brothers, Harold, Ronnie, and Gale Banister, all of Glasford, Bernard Banister of Little America; and George Banister of Greenview; a stepbrother, Reny Banister; and a sister, Helen Betters of Greenview.

Services: 11 a.m. Wednesday, Styninger Funeral Home, Greenview. Burial: Elmwood Cemetery, Greenview.
