Sec. 35, Twp. 19N, Range 8W Menard County, Illinois
The single stone in this "cemetery" is located in Section 35, Township 19N,
Range 8W. It is located on private property and permission is needed from the owner before
entering his land. No trespassing signs are posted. Exact directions will be given by
the property owner. The stone had fallen over and the property owner has set both the headstone
and the footstone up against a tree so that they aren't lost in the dirt and grass over time.
Jeanie included scenic pictures which she took during their drive to locate the stone.
It is approximately two miles from a maintained road and about one quarter of a mile from a field road in a
wooded area along a side of the field. The roads used to reach the burial spot were dirt and rutted and it was necessary
to cross a creek to get to the proper area. It's obvious from several of the
photos included above that part of these roads were cut out of surrounding hills.
