Mrs. Nellie Day Of Roodhouse Dies Saturday
Mrs. Nellie M. Day, 84, of Roodhouse died at 7:25 a.m. Saturday at the Meline Nursing Home in Jacksonville where she had been a patient for three weeks. She had previously been a patient at Passavant Hospital for one year.
Mrs. Day was born on April 14, 1883 in Manchester, the daughter of James and Sophia Arndel Garvin. She was married Sept. 6, 1905, to Vert M. Day, who preceded her in death on June 14, 1964.
She is survived by two sons, Rollin and Garvin of White Hall, three grandchildren and two great grandchildren. One brother and sister preceded her in death.
Mrs. day was a member of the First Baptist Church in White Hall and the Royal Neighbors of America in Roodhouse.
Funeral services were held at 2 p.m. Monday at the First Baptist Church in White Hall with Rev. E. Harris Paulson and Rev. Garfield Rodgers officiating. Music was provided by Mrs. William Andras and Neal Cooper, accompanied at the organ by Mrs. Thomas Howard. Pallbearers were Chester Day, Gordon McClenning, Maurice Harp, Kenneth Davis, Henry Pruitt, William Strang, Albert Smith and Reitman Hills.
Burial was in the White Hall Cemetery.

Rollin Day, Prominent Bank Executive, Dies At Age 74
J. Rollin Day, 74, of White Hall died Wednesday, Aug. 11, 1982, at the White Hall Hospital. He was President of the board of the White Hall National Bank.
Mr. Day was born June 16, 1908, in Greene County, son of Vert M. and Nellie Garvin Day. He married Hazel Virginia Crabtree Sept. 25, 1932, and she died July 10, 1974. He then married Velma Kesinger May 9, 1976, and she survives.
Also surviving are a stepson, Don Kesinger of Amarillo, Tex.; step-daughter-in-law, Shirley Kesinger, two step granddaughters; Kim and Julie Kesinger; a brother, Garvin Day of rural White Hall; two nieces and a nephew.
A graduate of White Hall schools and Hardin Brown Business College, Mr. Day was employed by the White Hall National Bank which he served in the capacity of bookkeeper, assistant cashier, executive vice president and finally president of the board. He retired in 1977 after 46 years there.
Mr. Day, a member of the Presbyterian Church in White Hall, belonged to White Hall Lodge 80 AF and Am and was a charter Lions Club member. From 1934-63 he had served as treasurer for the White Hall school district.
He was currently president of the White Hall Hospital Board.
Services were conducted at 2 p.m. Saturday, Aug. 14, at Airman-Hire Funeral Home in White Hall. Burial was in White Hall Cemetery.
Memorials are directed to the White Hall Hospital.
Conducting the services were Larry Bear who gave the eulogy and rev. Joe Bolen who gave prayer and scripture.
Vocalist was Mrs. Ruth Lemon accompanied at the organ by Mrs. Lillian Janvrin.
Casket bearers were Pat Nichols, Terry Airsman, John Ridings, Kenneth Davis, Howard Piper and Floyd Collins.
Honorary casket bearers were Carl Moran, Gherald Ross, Clifford Wyatt, Darrell McGlasson, James Guis, and Dr. Dan Woodlock.

WHITE HALL - J. Rollin Day, 74, of White Hall died at 1:53 a.m. Wednesday at White Hall Hospital.
Services will be at 2 p.m. Saturday at Airsman-Hires Funeral Home, White Hall. Burial will be in White Hall Cemetery.
Surviving are his wife, Velma (Kesinger); one stepson, Don Kesinger of Amarillo, Texas; one brother, Garbin (Garvin) Day of White Hall; two nieces and one nephew; two step grandchildren.
