Married Malissa W. SMITH , 1839 
8 Children : 3 survive , Louis J. & CS SHELTON and Mrs. Missouri A. 
DEWITT.
Joined Methodist Church in Dahlgren about 1883.

[ Note : Sylvester & Melissa were married on 16 Apr 1840 in Jefferson 
Co, IL .  Both are buried in the SHELTON Cemetery in Moore's Prairie , 
Jefferson Co, IL ]
