Samuel W. ORRICK Dies of Pneumonia Late Last Night
Samuel W. Orrick, a familiar teamster here for the past 14 years
died at his home, 308 Forest avenue at 11 o’clock last night. He
had been ill with pneumonia for five days. His age was 63 years,
5 months and 2 days. Prior to becoming a teamster, he was employed
by the Mt. Vernon Car Mfg. Company and the T. J. Moss Tie company.
He is survived by six children as follows: Arthur Orrick, Mt. Vernon
R.F.D. 5; Mrs. Elizabeth Austin, Wapella, Ill.; Mrs. Pearl Austin,
Mt. Vernon; Ethel Orrick, Mt. Vernon; Samuel Orrick, Wapella, Ill.;
Grace Orrick,Mt. Vernon. J. S. Orrick of Mt. Vernon is a brother and
Mrs. Charles Crouch of Bluford is a sister.
The body was taken to the Winfree Funeral home and prepared for burial
but will be returned to the home this evening. Funeral services will
be held at the Church of God, of which he was a member, at two o’clock
Thursday afternoon. Burial will be made at Lowry Hill cemetery.
