Dies; Funeral 
At Waltonville


Harmon Thomas Nowland, 73, of Waltonville, died at 11:35 a.m. 
Friday at Good Samaritan Hospital. 

Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. Sunday at the Fry 
Funeral Home in Waltonville with the Rev. Dwight Dame officiating. 
Burial will be in Memorial Gardens cemetery at Mt. Vernon. The body will lie
in state at the Fry Funeral Home where friends may call after 4:00 p.m. today. 

Mr. Nowland was born Jan. 20, 1892, in Jefferson county, the son of Isaac and 
Allie (Wells) Nowland. He was married to Dell Frick, who survives. He is also 
survived by three sons, Frank Nowland of Waltonville, Gordon Nowland of Sesser, 
and Meredeth Nowland of Ashley; a daughter, Mrs. Leonard Trader of Scheller; 
a brother, Walter Nowland of St. Cloud, Fla.; two sisters, Mrs. Maggie Reynolds 
of this city, and Mrs. Willard Fairchild of Waltonville; and five grandchildren. 
Mr. Nowland was a member of the Modern Woodmen of America Lodge.
