Monica Gayle Newell

Monica Gayle Newell 60, of Phoenix, Ari., died at 9:05 a.m. Thursday, 
Feb. 5, 2009, at the Scottsdale Health Care Hospital in Scottsdale, Ari.
Monica was born Nov. 7, 1948, in Mt. Vernon, the daughter of Everett Ward Wells Sr. 
and Marietta Faye (Wilson) Wells. Monica was a registered nurse working with burn 
patients. 

Funeral services will be held 11 a.m. Tuesday, Feb. 10, 2009, at Newell Funeral 
Home in Mt. Vernon, with Brother Albert Hampton officiating. Interment will follow 
at South Hickory Hill Cemetery in rural Mount Vernon. Friends may call on Monday 
from 5 to 8 p.m. at the Newell Funeral Home in Mt. Vernon. 

Monica is survived by her mother, Marietta Faye Wells of Bonnie; two daughters, 
Stephanie and husband Terry McCabe of Park Ridge and Andi Felty of Bonnie and fiancée 
Kevin Jackson of Mulkeytown; three grandsons, Brandon, Jakob and Christian Felty; 
one granddaughter, Riley McCabe; two uncles, Bill Wilson and wife Jesse and Tom Wells 
and wife Pat; and three aunts, Harriet Wilson, Mildred Wilson and Geraldine Wilson.

She was preceded in death by her father and a brother, Everett Ward Wells Jr.
