Jeremy Alan Newell

WALTONVILLE -- Jeremy Alan Newell, 16, died at 8:50 a.m. Wednesday, 
Oct. 29, 2003, at home. 

Jeremy was born Dec. 26, 1986, in Hobbs, N.M., to Dennis Joe Newell and 
Sharon Johnson. He was a junior at Waltonville High School where he was 
a member of the varsity basketball team. He was an avid fisherman, hunter 
and loved to ride horseback. He was a member of West Long Prairie Christian 
Church. 

Survivors include his father, Dennis Joe Newell of Waltonville; mother, 
Sharon Johnson and fiance Michael Anthony Garrison of Mount Vernon; two 
sisters, Hannah Lee Newell and Amanda Joe Newell, both of Mount Vernon; 
grandfather, Fred Newell of Waltonville; grandmother, Dolly Johnson of Hobbs; 
many aunts, uncles and cousins. He was preceded in death by one infant brother, 
Patrick DeWayne Newell, grandmother, Lois Marie Newell, and grandfather, DeWayne 
Johnson. 

Services will be at 11 a.m. Saturday in Waltonville High School, 
with the Rev. James McKinzie and Father Bert Iffert officiating. Burial 
will be in Knob Prairie Cemetery in Waltonville. Friends may call from 
5 to 9 p.m. today in the high school. Memorials may be made to Jeremy 
Alan Newell Memorial Fund and will be accepted by Newell Funeral Home.
