Ivan J. Newcomb
            
Ivan J. Newcomb, 76, of Robinson and formerly of the Mt. Vernon area, died  2:25 pm 
Jan. 26, 1993 at Crawford County Hospital in Robinson.
            
Mr. Newcomb was retired from Crop Forge Co.  in Berwyn.
            
He was born Oct. 10, 1916, in Ledy, Miss., a son of Walter and Mattie Belle (Depoister) Newcomb.  
Aug. 23, 1936 he married Bonnie F. Riddle, who survives.
            
Services will be 10:30 am Thursday at Hughey Funeral Home with J. Howard Kraps officiating.  
Burial will follow at Hopewell cemetery in Jefferson County.
            
Friends may call after 9:30 am Thursday at Hughey Funeral Home.
            
In addition to his wife, Mr. Newcomb is survived by one daughter Shirley Kirk and husband, 
Delbert, of Robinson; three sons, Jim Newcomb and wife, Linda, of Antioch, Larry Newcomb of 
Robinson and Norman Newcomb and wife, Dorothy, of Benton, Ky.; seven brothers, Noah Newcomb and 
Collidge Newcomb, both of Hopkinsville, Ky., Rutherford Newcomb of Lubbock, Texas, Owen Newcomb 
of Corrinth, Miss. Marvin Newcomb of Benton Ky., Clofford Newcomb of Hardin, Ky., and Clifford Newcomb 
of Clearwater Fla.; two sisters, Dora Harvel of Henderson Tenn., and Sally Cox of Wingo, Ky.; 
11 grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
            
Mr. Newcomb was a member of Church of Christ.
            
He was preceded in death by his parents and two sisters, Ada Hunt and Eddie Borden.
