LaVada Nelson
            
Mrs. LaVada Nelson, 62, died at her home, 332 S. Fourth street, yesterday at 6:30 p.m. 
after a long illness.
            
Mrs. Nelson was born September 27, 1884, at Bonnie, the daughter of John and Mary (Davis) Hayes.  
She married C. B. Nelson in February, 1901
            
The funeral will be held Saturday at 2 p.m. at the Hopewell Methodist Church, conducted by 
the Rev. E. D. Moore.  Burial will be in Hopewell Cemetery.
            
She was a member of Zion Methodist Church.
            
Relatives surviving include her husband; four daughters, Mrs. Alma Glenn of McLeansboro, 
Mrs. Mamie Haley of Opdyke, Mrs. Nellie Purcell of Mt. Vernon and Mrs. Dorothy Becherer of 
Belleville; and two sons, Russell of Opdyke and Byford of Michigan City, Ind.  Two sons and 
daughters are deceased. 
            
The body will remain at the Osborn Funeral Home in Dix until 10 a.m. Friday, and after that at 
the family residence.
