Robert Neal Dies At Age 85; Funeral Tuesday

Robert C. Neal died at 1:00 p.m. Saturday at his home, 
1705 south 10th street at the age of 85 years, 11 months, and 19 days. 

Mr. Neal was a retired shoe factory watchman. 

Funeral services will be held at 7:30 p.m. Tuesday at Myers Chapel with 
the Rev. Gus Smith officiating. Burial will be in Knob Prairie cemetery. 
The body will lie in state at Myers Chapel where friends may call after 
4:00 p.m. today. 

Mr. Neal was born, June 21, 1875, in Centertown, Ky., the son of John and 
Sarah (Mann) Neal. He was married to Betty Jamerson, who preceded him in 
death July 21, 1954. Survivors include two sons, John Neal and Gordon Neal; 
three daughters, Mrs. Ross Brown, Mrs. Clarence Nolta, and Miss Thelma Neal, 
all of Mt. Vernon; three brothers, Charles Neal of Louisville, Ky., 
Hunter Neal of Evansville, Ind., and William Neal of Mt. Vernon; 11 grandchildren; 
21 great grand children; and one great-great grandchild. 

Mr. Neal was a member of the South Side Baptist church.
