Elizabeth Neal, 80, Dies Today At Home Here
Mrs. Elizabeth (Betty) Neal, wife of Robert C. Neal, died at the
family home, 1705 south Tenth street, this morning at 4:25 o'clock,
just five days before her 80th birthday. The body was taken to Myers
Chapel, where friends may call after 1 p.m. Thursday. Funeral services
will be held at the Chapel Friday afternoon at three o'clock, with the
Reverend Leonard Whitlock in charge. Burial will be in Knob Prairie cemetery.
Mrs. Neal wa born in Centertown, Ky., July 26, 1874, the daughter of John
and Fannie (Boyd) Jamison. She was married June 3, 1896 to Robert C. Neal,
who survives. A Mt. Vernon resident for the past 28 years, she was a member
of Park Avenue Baptist church. Mrs. Neal is survived by four daughters,
Mrs. Ross Brown and Mrs. Clarence Nolla, Mt. Vernon, Mrs. Charles Stonecipher,
Blytheville, Ark., and Miss Thelma Neal, at home; two sons, John and Gordon
of Mt. Vernon; one sister, Mrs. Verda Faught, Whiting, Ind.; and six brothers,
Sam and Ed Jamison, Rozone, Ky., Ferris and Arvin, Dyersburg, Tenn.,
Vernie, of Whiting, Ind., and Cephas, of Rockport, Ind. Also surviving are
11 grandchildren and 12 great grandchildren.
