Lucy Catherine Moss

Lucy Catherine Moss, daughter of William and Martha Moss, 
was born Jan. 22, 1879, on a farm near Macedonia, being 65 
when she departed this life March 20, 1944, at Mt. Vernon, Ill., 
where she had resided near her sister there. 

She was married to Robert E. Aiken December 7, 1902, He passed 
away 12 years ago. 

Three children survive, Mrs Clyde Pittman of West Frankfort, 
Robert M. Aiken of Benton, and Chalon F. Aiken of Springfield. 

Early in life she was converted and joined the Missionary Baptist 
Church and for many years prior to her death was a devoted member 
of the Knob Prairie Church. 

In addition to the children, she is survived by two sisters, 
Mrs. Janie Lee of Mt. Vernon and Mrs. Gertie Vise of Macedonia, 
and one brother Carrol Moss of New Jersey, and five grandchildren. 
Aunt Lucy, as she was known by her many relatives and friends, 
was noted for her generosity and inate kindness. 
Her passing leaves a void that cannot be filled.
