Mark H. Moss Former Resident Dies in Texas
Mark H. Moss, a former resident of Mt. Vernon, died in Texas
Monday at the age of 68. He was a brother of Ed B. Moss.
Mr. Moss died in a San Antonio hospital. His funeral and burial
services were held yesterday.
He had been in ill health for some time.
Mr. Moss was born October 19, 1896, in Jefferson county, the son
of W.D. (Doug) and Mary Ellen Moss. He was educated in Mt. Vernon
public schools and left here in 1916 for Oklahoma City, where he
joined his brother, Tony I. Moss, owner and operator of the Moco
Laboratories. They manufactured Monkey Grip tire patch.
He married Opal May Davenport of Oklahoma City in 1924 and they
celebrated their 40th anniversary in Mt. Vernon last year. They
have made their home in San Antonio for a number of years.
He was a member of the Episcopal church and the Masonic lodge of
San Antonio.
He is survived by his wife, one sister, Mrs. Mamie Moss Culli of
Taft, Texas, and one brother, Ed B. Moss of Mt. Vernon.
Preceding him in death were his parents, and three brothers, Tony,
Moody, and Walter.
