Billy Joe Morgan, 66, of Overland Park (Morris Village), Kansas, passed away
at his home on Friday, August 29, 2008.
The family will receive friends from 6-8 p.m. on Thursday, September 4, 2008,
at the Penwell-Gabel Funeral Home, Olathe Chapel. In lieu of flowers, the

Billy Joe was born December 26, 1941, at his home in Buzzard Roost, Ill., to
Willie and Effie Morgan. He was graduate of Waltonville High School in
Waltonville, Ill. Following graduation, he moved to Kansas City, Mo., where he
became a barber. He was a veteran of the Vietnam conflict. After the war, he
returned to the Kansas City area and went to work for Kinneys Plumbing in Olathe,
where he worked for 36 years. His hobby and love was his antique Farmall tractors
that he enjoyed, and he loved to talk about and show in Parades.
He was preceded in death by his parents, a daughter, Cynthia Morgan, six brothers
and five sisters. He is survived by four sisters, Maggie Ransom, Dorothy Mays,
Irma Grant, and Gloria McNeil; a brother, Robert Lewis Morgan, and many nieces
and nephews.
