Robert G. Moreton

Robert G. Moreton, 76, of Mt. Vernon died 9:10 a.m. Jan. 5, 2006, 
at St. Mary’s Good Samaritan Hospital in Mt. Vernon. He was born 
Aug. 9, 1929, in Mt. Vernon, a son of James and Marion (McDaniel) Moreton. 
On Nov. 7, 1954, he married Helen M. (Nichols) Moreton; she survives. 
Mr. Moreton was a partner in the William R. Frizzell Architectural Firm 
in Fort Myers, Fla. They also had offices in Naples, Miami and Orlando. 
Mr. Moreton was an Air Force veteran, serving in the Korean War. He was 
a member of First Baptist Church in Mt. Vernon. 

Mr. Moreton is survived by his wife, Helen M. Moreton of Mt. Vernon; a 
daughter, Cathy M. Lang and husband John S. of Mission Viejo, Calif.; a son, 
Mark S. Moreton of Mission Viejo, Calif.; a granddaughter, Ashley M. Lang of 
Mission Viejo, Calif.; and three grandsons, Christopher B. Hawley of 
Greenville, S.C., and Aaron Moreton and Zachary Moreton, both of Santa Margarita, 
Calif. 

Mr. Moreton was preceded in death by his parents and two brothers, Glen Moreton 
and Mark Moreton. 

Funeral services will be 1:30 p.m. Sunday at First Baptist Church in Mt. Vernon. 
Burial will be in Oakwood Cemetery in Mt. Vernon. Visitation will be from 5:30 to 8 p.m. 
Saturday and after 12:30 p.m. Sunday until the funeral hour at First Baptist Church in 
Mt. Vernon. Johnston Funeral Home in Mt. Vernon is in charge of arrangements, where
