Orval B. Moore; Dies Today; Funeral Sunday
Orval B. Moore, Mt. Vernon painter, died at his home today at the
age of 37 years, one month and 27 days.
Funeral services, conducted by the Reverands John Kilbey and B. F. Fritz,
will be held Sunday at 2 p.m. at the Church of God on South Tenth street.
The body will remain at the home, where friends may call up to the funeral hour.
Mr. Moore was born August 5, 1904 in Bluford, the son of Morton Moore and
Bertha Carter Moore. On January 27, 1938 he was united in marriage to
Ganal Page, who survives.
He had been a resident of this city for the past 27 years.
Besides his widow, his is survived by his parents; one son, Orval Jr.;
two daughters, Mrs. Maxine Chamliss of Bluford and Yvonne at home' one brother,
Lee Moore of Mt. Vernon' one sister, Mrs. Aline Quinn of High Point, North Carolina;
and two step-daughters, Miss Augusta Page of Mt. Vernon and Mrs. Lela Fellow of
Vincennes, Ind.

Orval's middle name was Benjamin. His son's name was Orval Lee Moore,
therefore technically not a junior, although he was called 'Junior' by
his family. Daughter Maxine's married name was Chambliss, not Chamliss
as reported. Orval Benjamin Moore's natural children were from his first
marriage to Mildred (Wininger) Chambliss.
