Ed W. Moore
Ed W. (William) Moore, 71, of 1123 Park Avenue, died at 9:30 a.m.
Friday at the Veterans Hospital in Marion, Ill, where he had been
a patient for the past week.
Mr. Moore was a retired electrician at the Mt. Vernon Car Company.
Funeral services will be held Monday at 1:30 p.m. at Myers Chapel.
The Rev. Everett Lemay will officiate and burial will be in Memorial
Gardens. The body will lie in state at Myers Chapel, where friends
may call after 4:00 p.m. Sunday.
Mr. Moore was born August 13, 1894 in Jefferson county, the son of
Ed and Minnie (Rapstock) Moore. On April 7, 1924 he was married, in
St. Louis, Mo., to Ida May Garret (sic), who survives. A veteran of
World War I, Mr Moore was a member of the World War I Veterans of the U.S.A.
He was a member of the Park Avenue Baptist church.
Besides his wife, he is survived by two daughters, Mrs. Carmen Wilson
and Mrs. Marianna McCarty; two sons, Gary W. Moore and Val E. Moore;
and 13 grandchildren.
