Robert M. Minor
            
Robert M. Minor, 73, of Mt. Vernon died Jan. 4, 1996, at his home.
            
Mr. Minor was a farmer and oil field worker.
            
Born in Jefferson County on July 9, 1922, he was a son of Ira and Anna (Stonecipher) Minor.  
He married Senia E Lindeberg on Aug. 5, 1943, in Jefferson County and she preceded him in 
death on Jan. 21, 1978.
            
Services will be 1 pm Tuesday at the Osborn Funeral Home of Dix with the Rev. Elton Storey 
officiating.  Burial will be in Hopewell Cemetery.  Graveside rites will be given by American 
Legion Post 141 of Mt. Vernon.
            
Friends may call 5 to 9 pm Monday at the funeral home.
            
He attended Range Grade School and Mt. Vernon Township High School.
            
He was a Protestant.
            
Survivors include a son, Melvin Ray Minor and wife Pat of Mt. Vernon; two daughters, 
Barbara Ann Fletcher and husband Harvie of McLeansboro and Nancy Meadows and husband Billie Joe 
of Dix; five grandchildren, Tracy Palmer and husband Mark, Curtis Alan Meadows, Michael Ray Minor 
and wife Stacie, Krystal Minor, and Melvin Lee Shields; two great-grandchildren, Tony Palmer and 
Tyler Meadows; a brother, James Minor of Brentwood, Calif.; and a sister, Betty Pauline Minor of 
Mt. Vernon.
            
He was preceded in death by his wife, parents, and two brothers, George Minor and Richard Minor.
