DAVID M. MINOR DIES AT AGE 89; FUNERAL FRIDAY:
David Martin Minor, a retired Jefferson county farmer, died at 6:30
a.m. today at the home of his daughter, Mrs. Gerald Williams, 1609 Pace
Avenue. He was 89 years, nine months and seven days of age. Funeral
services will be held Friday at 2:00 p.m. at the East Salem Baptist Church
and burial will be in the nearby cemetery. The body will remain at the
Pulley Funeral Home, where friends may call after 10 a.m. Thursday. Mr.
Minor was born in Jefferson county January 12, 1866, the son of Thomas
and Mary Ann (Beal) Minor. On May 10, 1891 he was married in Jefferson
County, to Martha Susan Lisenby, who survives. On last May 10th he and
Mrs. Minor observed their 64th wedding anniversary. Mr. Minor had been
in failing health since suffering a hip fracture five years ago.
Besides his wife, he is survived by one son, Robert H. of Beech Grove, Ind.:
two daughters, Mrs. Mabel Smith and Mrs. Maisye Williams of Mt. Vernon;
five grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren; and one sister,
Mrs. Della Mulvaney of Mt. Vernon.
