Ralph R. Melton
Ralph R. Melton, 75, of Route 3, died yesterday at 3:30 P.M. in the
Good Samaritan Hospital.
Mr. Melton was born in Jefferson County on July 15, 1896 the son of
Benjamin and Osa Riggs Melton. He was married to the former Margaret
Barva on Sept. 1, 1917.
Mr. Melton, a real estate broker and a retired teacher, was a member of
the Mason of Opdyke and some time ago was named an honorary Kentucky
Colonel by the Governor of that state.
Survivors include his wife; one so, Lawrence of Mt. Vernon; two daughters,
Mrs Alpha Gentles and Mrs. Bernadine Davis, both of Mt. Vernon; one sister
Mrs. Lorene Randolph of Brownsville, Tex.; ten grandchildren and 15 great
grandchildren.
Funeral Services will be held at Myers Chapel on Friday at 1:30 p.m. with
Father James burke officiating. Burial will be in St. Mary's cemetery.
Friends may call at the Chapel after 5:30 p.m. tomorrow.
