Lela Mae McKowen
            
Lela Mae McKowen, 44, 316 North 12th street, died at 10:15 am yesterday at 
the home of her mother, Mrs. Lela McKowen, 1308 Casey.
            
Funeral services will be at 1:30 pm Monday at the Myers Chapel, with the 
Rev. Everett LeMay officiating.
            
Burial will be at the Hopewell Cemetery.  Friends may call at the Myers Chapel after 4 pm Sunday.
            
Miss McKowen was born Sept. 28, 1922, in Mt. Vernon, the daughter of George O. and 
Lela (Smith) McKowen.  She was a member of the Park Avenue Baptist Church.
            
Survivors include: the mother; one brother, Nolan McKowen, and one sister, Mrs. Edna Chambliss, 
both of Mt. Vernon.
            
She was preceded in death by her father.
