Hattie Bell McKowen
Mrs. Hattie B. McKowen, wife of Oscar McKowen, of 412 North Seventh street, died
last night at 9:40, after a weeks illness of influenza, followed by asthma.
Mrs. McKowen's friends were numbered by her acquaintances. Her disposition was one
to be commended, as she was always kind and cheerful, even during her last sickness.
Mr. McKowen is interested in the McKowen & Watson garage, but he was at home constantly
during his wife's last illness, doing all and having done everything that could be done.
Mrs. McKowen is survived by her husband, Oscar McKowen, her parents, Mr. and Mrs.
Allen Maxey, and the following named sisters and one brother: Mrs. Henry Jones and
Miss Nora Maxey, of this city, Mrs. Gertie Grimes, Claremore, Okla., and Harris Maxey,
who was called here from St. Louis, because of her serious illness.
Short funeral services will be held at the residence at 9:30 tomorrow, followed by services
at Hopewell Church at 11 o'clock.
