Jack P. McDermott

Jack P. McDermott, 54, of Goreville, Illinois 
died Friday, November 10, 2006, 11:00 P.M. at 
Heartland Regional Medical Center in Marion, Illinois. 

Jack was born on June 3, 1952 in Mt. Vernon, Illinois a 
son to James Robert McDermott & Wanita Gladys (Cole) McDermott. 
He married Sheryl Reed on September 12, 1976 in Mt. Vernon, 
Illinois and she survives. 

He was a Truck Driver for Thomason Trucking. 

In honor of his wishes, he will be cremated and a Private 
Burial will be held at Bethel Cemetery in Mt. Vernon at a 
later date. Greetings of friends will be held on Thursday, 
November 26, 2006 from 5 to 7:00PM at Hughey Funeral Home 
in Mt. Vernon, Illinois. 

Survivors include Wife: Sheryl McDermott of Goreville, Illinois; 
2 Sons: Kyle McDermott of Mt. Vernon, Illinois and Ryan McDermott 
of Goreville, Illinois; 3 Brothers: James McDermott and wife 
Frances of Dix, Illinois, Joe McDermott and wife Cassie of Mt. Vernon, 
Illinois and John McDermott of Mt. Vernon, Illinois; 1 Step Sister: 
Fiona Ailey and husband Wendall of Woodland, Illinois; Stepfather: 
Ferde Rettke of Woodland, Illinois; Father and Mother-in-law: Robert 
and Evadene Reed of Mt. Vernon, Illinois. Several Nieces and Nephews 
survive and many friends. 

His parents and several aunts and uncles preceded him in death. 

For those who wish, memorials may be given to the Shriner's Hospital 
for Children and will be accepted at the funeral home or may be mailed 
to Hughey Funeral Home, P.O. Box 721, Mt. Vernon, Illinois 62864.
