Dwight B. McConnaughhay

Dwight B. McConnaughhay, 85, passed August 16, 2004 in Colorado 
Springs. Dwight was born September 15, 1918 to Benjamin and Fleta 
McConnaughhay in Bluford, Illinois. After graduating from high school Dwight 
enlisted into the U.S. Army and retired from the Army in 1963. He was 
employed with the U.S. Postal Services for 20 years retiring in 1983. 

Dwight was married to Ada Hopper for 50 years until her death on July 
9, 1992. They had four children. Dwight was a resident of Colorado 
Springs since 1940. He was a faithful member of Palace of Peace Seventh Day 
Adventist Church since 1992. Dwight was an avid gardener and everything 
he touched grew well. 

His parents, a brother and three sisters preceded him in death. He is 
survived by his second wife Ruth, daughters Connie Peterson and Bonnie 
Bahle; sons James McConnaughhay and Dwight B. McConnaughhay II; eight 
grandchildren, six great grandchildren, cousins and many friends 

Visitation will be held from noon to 2:00 p.m., Friday August 20, 2004 
at Memorial Gardens Cemetery at 3825 Airport Rd, Colorado Springs, CO 
with services to follow.
