Jeff Mays

Jeffrey "Jeff" Mays, 37, of Mt. Vernon died 7:02 a.m. 
March 24, 2001, at the emergency room at Scott Air 
Force Base Hospital.

He was a delivery truck driver for Cusamano and Sons and 
was also owner and operator of Mays Construction Company.

Mr. Mays was born Oct. 20, 1963, in Mt. Vernon to George Paul and 
Dorothy I. (Morgan) Mays. He married Kimberly K. Roddell 
March 27, 1999, in Mt. Vernon; she survives. 

Funeral services will be held 1 p.m. Tuesday at Hughey Funeral 
Home in Mt. Vernon. The Rev. Alan Smith will officiate. 
Burial will be at South Hickory Hill Cemetery. Friends may call from 
5 to 8 p.m. today at Hughey Funeral Home. 

In addition to his wife and his mother and her special friend, 
Leonard Steward, he is survived by two daughters, Alisha Roddell 
of Mt. Vernon and Ashley Mays of Fulton, Mo.; two sons, John Paul 
Mays and Raymond J. Mays, both of Mt. Vernon; one sister, Paula Sanders 
and husband Roger of Dix, two brothers, Ronnie Mays and wife Vicky of 
Dix and Roger Mays and wife Linda of Opdyke; special friend, 
Kevin Crider of Champaign; also several nieces and nephews 
survive. 

He was preceded in death by his father; one brother, John J. 
Mays; and his grandparents. 

For those who wish memorials may be made to establish funds for 
the children and will be accepted at Hughey Funeral Home.
