Alma L. Mays
            
Alma L. Mays, 82, of Mt. Vernon, Died 8:05 pm Oct. 29, 1994, at Casey Care Center.
            
Mrs. Mays was a cook at several area restaurants.
            
She was born Aug. 3, 1912, in Opdyke, a daughter of Tom and Grace (McKee) Hughey.  
She married William Harley Mays, who preceded her in death.
            
Services were to be at 1 pm today at Hughey Funeral Home with the Rev. Buss Hart officiating.  
Burial was in Hopewell Cemetery.
            
Mrs. Mays is survived by a daughter, Mary Neideffer and husband Leonard of Mt. Vernon; 
grandchildren, Mary Weems, Leonard Neideffer Jr., Jeffery Neideffer, and Alma Ruth Curtis; 
eight great-grandchildren; two sisters, Mary Dixon of Chicago, and Gladys Porter of Marion; 
two brothers, Cecil Hughey and wife Barbara of Mt. Vernon, and John Hughey of Mt. Vernon; and 
several nieces and nephews.
            
She was a Baptist.
            
In addition to her husband, Mrs. Mays was preceded in death by her parents; a grandson, 
Buddy Dean Neidefer; two brothers, Fay Hughey and Harrison Hughey; and a sister, Pauline Rector.
