Alice T. Mays

Alice T. Mays, age 76, of Mt. Vernon died 8:52 a.m. Tuesday July 1, 2008 
at Saint Mary’s Good Samaritan Hospital in Mt Vernon. 

Alice was born May 8, 1932 in Holcomb, Mississippi a daughter of Melton 
and Mosella (Brown) Harris. She married Lloyd Mays and he preceded her in 
death on May 22, 2005.

Alice was a Domestic Technician for the C.E. Brehm family for over 40 years 
and was a member of Lively Stone Apostolic Church in Mt. Vernon. 

She is survived by two sons, Lee Mays and wife Beverly and Rocky Mays and 
wife Desiree all of Mt. Vernon; four daughters, Brenda and husband Freeman 
Teaberry of St. Louis, MO, Iris and husband Pastor Allen E. Rudd Sr. of Mt. Vernon, 
Bridgette and husband Hosea Moore Jr. of San Bernardine, California and Natalie 
Mays-Cantley of Mt. Vernon; also four special children, Robert Rollins Sr., 
Jacqueline Mays-Nesbitt, Gary Eggleson and Stacie Brehm-Tate; three brothers, 
Melton Harris Jr., Bruce Harris and Henry Harris; seven sisters Eliza Emmons, 
Ella Mae Harris, Sarah Phillips, Amy Sue Hardin, Alsice Murrell, Vancie Johnson 
and Shelly Colvin; and eighty plus grandchildren and numerous great-grandchildren. 

She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, son Lloydell Mays, three 
grandchildren Kalmarcus Farmer, Kaaleem Nesbitt, Robert Rollins Jr.; one brother 
Mose Harris

Funeral services will be held at 12 noon Monday, July 7, 2008 at Shiloh Missionary 
Baptist Church (1015 Conger) in Mt. Vernon with Pastor Allen E. Rudd Sr. and Rev. 
Ronald Johnson officiating. Burial will follow at Mt. Vernon Memorial Gardens Cemetery. 
Visitation will be held on Monday from 11:00 a.m. until service time at the Church.
