Charlotte Maxfield

Charlotte Bruce MAXFIELD, daughter of M. D. Bruce and wife Jane, was born 
near Mt. Vernon, in Jefferson County, Ill., Jan 13, 1837. On Oct 2, 1852, she was 
married to John Maxfield at Dix, Ill. The husband passed on in 1911. 
There is one sister living, Mrs. Alice Bruce Hawkins, Walnut Hill, Ill. There were 
twelve children. Three are deceased, Lee Charles and Martha. Surviving children 
are; John L. of Centralia: Sarah Chamberlain of Mason, Ill.; Emma Chamberlain of 
Grand Bay, Ala.; Mant Carleton, Rose van Sant, Lou Richardson, Myrtle Wilson, and 
Melvin Maxfield of Farina, Ill.; and Grace Farthing of Lander, Wyoming. 
The end came from old age at 7:30 pm, February 12, 1921.
