Frances (Fannie) Maxey
            
Frances (Fannie) Maxey died at 11:30 am today at her home 307 N. Sixth street at the age 
of 85 years, two months and 13 days.
            
Funeral services will be held Saturday at 1:30 pm at Myers Chapel.  The Rev. M. A. Souers and 
the Rev. Orlando Brakemeyer will officiate and burial will be in Hopewell Cemetery.  The body 
will remain at Myers Chapel until the funeral hour.
            
Mrs. Maxey was born November 15, 1857 near Toronto, Canada, the daughter of Richard and 
Mary (Shore) Reynor.  She had been a resident of this city for the past 41 years.  The family 
settled near Hopewell in this county 47 years ago.
            
She was united in marriage with Allen R. Maxey, who preceded her in death October 3, 1923.
            
Mrs. Maxey was a member of the Epworth Methodist church.
            
Surviving are one son, Harris E. Maxey of East St. Louis; three daughters, Mrs. Henry W. Jones, 
Mrs. Gertie Grimes and Mrs. Nora Rose, all of Mt. Vernon; a sister Mrs. Edgar E. Miller of Mt. Vernon; 
seven grandchildren and five great grandchildren.  Maxey Grimes, a grandson, was reared in the home 
as a son.
