Mrs. Henry Maxey Ill for Five Years
From Effect of Cancer - Born in This County
At 5:50 Tuesday morning, March 28, the spirit left the body of
Mrs. Henry Maxey, and took it's upward flight to the mansion of
rest. Mary J. Keller was born in Jefferson county, Nov. 19, 1866
and at the time of her death was 44 years, 4 months and 9 days of age.
She was the daughter of the late Willis A. Keller and his wife.
October 3, 1888, she became the wife of Henry Maxey and a happy home
was made. The home was brightened by the birth of Lester and again by
the advent of little Helen. These heartbroken children, now almost grown,
with a bereaved husband, survive. The other near relatives are one sister,
Mrs. Lou Jones, and C. R. Keller, a brother, both of this city. The half
brothers and sisters are J. D. rentchler, Mt. Vernon, J.W. Rentchler,
Belleville; Mrs. Clara A. Hess, Pittsfield, IL.; C. A. Keller, Mrs.
Minnie E. Frohock and Mrs. Sarah E. Yost, San Antonia, Tex.; and Mrs.
Amanda Lloyd, Pembroke, Ky.
The funeral will be conducted at the First M. E. church, Wednesday
afternoon, at 2 o'clock, by Rev. C.D. Shumard, of Mt. Carmel. The body
will lie in state at the residence, 810 North St., from 10 until 12
Wednesday. Interment will be conducted at Oakwood.
