Steve Marlow, Former Resident, Passes Monday
Steve Marlow, longtime resident of the State Center community, passed away at the Woods
hospital here Monday afternoon following an illness of several weeks duration.
Funeral services were held at 2:00 pm today, April 26, at the Methodist church in State
Center with the Rev F J Robins and the Rev L L Martin of Collins officiating. Interment
was at Hillside cemetery. Pall bearers were members of the State Center and Collins Masonic
Lodge.
Mr Marlow was born November 7, 1869 in Jefferson county, Illinois, the son of Henry and
Carolyn Marlow. On February 23, 1888 he was married to Miss Emma Caroline Bruce. They lived
in Illinois until 1913 when they came to State Center.
The family lived in this vicinity until after the death of Mrs Marlow. Mr Marlow has lived
at Collins since 1942. One daughter also preceded him in death. He was a member of the Methodist
church and Terrestrial Lodge No. 276, A.F. and A.M. at State Center.
Mr Marlow is survived by three daughters and four sons, George of Ames, Harry of Bondurant, Curt
and Mrs Don Titus of Collins, Mrs Roy Clemons of Marshalltown, Mrs Ben Kelly of State Center and
Keith of San Francisco, Calif.
