Martha Ellnetta Marlow

Martha Ellnetta Marlow, 84, of Mt. Vernon died 7 p.m. Sept. 7, 1999, at her home. 

Mrs. Marlow was employed at Davidson Bakery in Mt. Vernon many years ago. 
She was born Aug. 15, 1915, in Mt. Vernon to Joseph and Claudia (Skinner) McDermott. 
She married Norval M. “Nob” Marlow on Oct. 27, 1934, in Brownstown. 
He died Jan. 5, 1997. 

Services will be held 10:30 a.m. Friday at Hughey Funeral Home, with the 
Rev. Jeff VanDyke officiating. Burial will be at Oakwood Cemetery, Mt. Vernon. 
Friends may call from 5 to 8 p.m. Thursday at Hughey Funeral Home. 

Mrs. Marlow was the loving mother of two sons, Mark Marlow and wife Sharon of 
Mt. Vernon and Larry Marlow and wife Debbie of Mt. Vernon; the loving mother 
of one daughter, Marcella Payne and husband Robert of Mt. Vernon; the loving 
grandmother of Thomas Marlow and wife Michelle, Jason Marlow and wife Monica, 
Travis Marlow, Ryan Marlow, Tim Marlow and wife Tracy, Mary Lynn Goins and 
husband Billy Goins, Justin Payne, Jessica Case and husband Jerry, Jeremy Payne, 
Jared Payne, Ken Dare and wife Barbara, Carrie Meler and husband Matt, and 
Rachel Breeze; and the beloved great-grandmother of nine. Also, several 
nieces and nephews survive. Mrs. Marlow was a longtime member of 
Epworth United Methodist Church. 

In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by her parents; 
two daughters, D’Ella Dare Breeze and Carol Marlow; granddaughter Lana Dare; 
and one brother, Jim “Big Jim” McDermott. 
Memorials may be made to Epworth United Methodist Church and will be 
accepted at the funeral home. Mrs. 

Marlow was a perfect mother, grandmother and great- grandmother to her family, 
always adding tears of joy, sorrow and sympathy to all her family and friends.
