June Lorraine Mannen
June L. Mannen, 76, died 9:23 p.m. Sept. 22, 2004, at her
home in Waltonville.
She was born Sept. 3, 1928, in West Frankfort to Clarence and
Georgia (Daniels) Leslie. She married Dwight Mannen. He preceded
her in death on June 17, 1986. She was a longtime school nurse at
Waltonville School as well as other area schools. She attended Long
Prairie Christian Church and South Hickory Hill Christian Church.
She was a member of Prairie Historians and enjoyed parasailing, white
water rafting, camping in Yosemite and trips to France.
Survivors include two daughters, Laurel Sims and husband John of Waltonville
and Debbie Bliss and husband David of Burlingame, Calif; a son, Sidney Mannen
and wife Tammy of Waltonville; a sister, Kay Winka and husband Leroy of Radom;
nine grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents and her husband; a sister, Betty Duff;
and a grandson, Matthew Mannen.
A celebration of her life will be held 3 p.m. Saturday at Newell Funeral Home
in Waltonville, with Gilbert Daniels officiating. Burial will follow at Knob
Prairie Cemetery in Waltonville. Friends may call from 1 to 3 p.m. Saturday at
Newell Funeral Home in Waltonville, where you may also call for further information
at 279-7272.
