Thomas Rosco Mann
Old Citizen of Hopewell to Be Buried on Tuesday...Thomas Rosco Mann,
last survivor of a family of nine, died at his home near Hopewell,
Saturday night at 8:50 o'clock. Mr. Mann was the son of Enos and
Katherine Mann.
Mr. Mann was born at Paris, Ill., Nov. 29, 1858. He was married
to Cora E. McFarland Nov. 5, 1889. Mr. and Mrs. Mann moved to
Jefferson County from Paris 22 years ago. To this union were born
four daughters, Mrs. Georgia Alexander, Mrs. Gladys Mattix, Mrs.
Lela Brown, all of Mt. Vernon, and Mrs. Jessie Moos, Lincoln, Ill.,
who survive. His widow, three granddaughters and three grandsons
also survive.
He was a member of the Methodist Church.
Mr. Mann, was greatly devoted to his family, and was a highly
respected citizen.
Funeral services will be held Tuesday, at 11 o'clock at Hopewell
M.E. Church, of which he was a member for 32 years, and burial
will be had in Hopewell Cemetery.
