OBITUARY: In the Mt. Vernon Register News published on Monday, 26 May 1958 we 
read: "William Thomas Manley, a retired grocer, died at 4:50 p.m. Saturday at 
Good Samaritan Hospital.  He was 91 years and seven months of age.  Funeral 
services will be held Tuesday at 1:00 p.m. at the Pulley Funeral Chapel.  The 
Rev. Howard Flots and the Rev. Otho Williams will officiate ... .  The body 
will lie in state at the Pulley Funeral Home, where friends may call at any 
time."  His wife, Ida Edna Winfree preceded him in death although a date is 
not known.  Family members believe she died in St. Louis, Missouri. "Mr. 
Manley was a member of the Free Will Baptist Church.  He is survived by four 
sons, ... 14 grandchildren and 22 great-grandchildren.  His parents, wife, 
four brothers and two sisters preceded him in death.
