In the Mt. Vernon Register News published on Wednesday,
March 5, 1969 we read:
Thomas Guy Manley, 67, 1121 Shawnee Street, died at 2:00 p.m.
Tuesday at home. He was a car man for the South Shore Railroad.
Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. Friday at Pulley Funeral
Chapel, with the Rev. Frank Trotter officiating. Burial will be
in Oakwood Cemetery. The body will lie in state at the Pulley
Funeral Home, where friends may call after 4:00 p.m. Thursday.
Masonic rites will be conducted at 7:30 p.m. Thursday at the funeral
home by Mt. Vernon Lodge 31, A.F. and A.M.
Mr. Manley was born July 31, 1901 in Mt. Vernon, the son of William
Thomas and Ida (Winfree) Manley. On January 14, 1930, in Evansville,
Indiana he was married to Mae Sheldon, who survives. Other survivors
include two sons, David Manley of Three Oaks, Michigan, and Larry Manley
of Michigan City, Indiana; one brother, Ernest Manley of Mt. Vernon and
13 grandchildren. He was proceded in death by two brothers.
Mr. Manley was a member of Acme Lodge 83, A.F. and A.M. of Michigan City,
Indiana and South Bend, Indiana, Consistor 32nd Mason.
