George E. Lisenby
George E. Lisenby, 84, of Woodstock, died Friday, Aug. 20, 1999,
at Memorial Medical Center.
He was born Sept. 29, 1914, in Mount Vernon, to William A. and
Addie M. (Yearwood) Lisenby. He married Geneva E. Nichols in Mount Vernon.
He served in the U.S. Navy during World War II, performing air-to-sea
rescue missions. He was employed at the Holmes American Motors dealership in
Woodstock and at the Farr Co. in Crystal Lake.
Survivors include his wife of Woodstock; two daughters, Debbie (Dale) Rover
of Richmond and Lori (Ronald) Leonard of Lake Geneva, Wis.; five
grandchildren, Jennifer and Nathan Rover, and Jason, Amanda and Emily Leonard;
and several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents, three sisters and two
brothers.
The visitation will be from 5 to 7 p.m. Monday, Aug. 23, at the
Schneider-Leucht-Merwin and Cooney Funeral Home, 1211 N. Seminary Ave.,
Woodstock. The funeral will be at 11 a.m. Tuesday, Aug. 24, at the funeral home.
Interment will be in McHenry County Memorial Park in Woodstock.
