Virginia L. Jones

Virginia L. Jones, 70, of Peoria died 10:27 a.m. 
Aug. 12, 2005, at her residence. 

She was born Jan. 25, 1935, in Mt. Vernon to Orville and 
Opal (Leneave) Burton. She married Jerry L. Jones April 20, 1962, 
in Peoria; he survives. Also surviving are four sons, Rod (Cheryl) 
Oathout of Ashland City, Tenn., Tom Oathout of Peoria, Garry (Debbie) 
Jones of Washington and Larry (Denise) Jones of Peoria; two daughters, 
Brenda (Dale) Pemble of East Peoria and Janice Weber of Bartonville; 
five sisters, Joann Reeves of Mt. Vernon, Betty (Speed) Wright of Centralia, 
Daisy (Ken) Harris of Ashland City, Tenn., Gloria (Bill) Gottman of Rockford 
and Vicky (Mike) Storment of Mt. Vernon; three brothers, Ted (Paulita) 
Burton of Mt. Vernon, David (Becky) Burton of Mt. Vernon and Mark (Darla) 
Burton of Woodlawn; 12 grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren. 

She was preceded in death by her parents, an infant sister and a grandson. 

Funeral services will be 11 a.m. Wednesday at Endsley Funeral Home in 
Bartonville. Burial will be in Lutheran Cemetery in Peoria. Visitation 
will be held from 4 to 8 p.m. Tuesday at Endsley Funeral Home in 
Bartonville. 

Mrs. Jones retired after 15 years from the Youth Farm, where she 
was the head of housekeeping. She was a member of the Church of Christ 
in Pekin. She and her husband belonged to the Eagles Club.
