Billy D. Jones

Billy D. Jones, 61, Opdyke, died 8:13 p.m. Dec. 22, 2004 at 
Mt. Vernon Care. Mr. Jones worked for Defenders Services at 
General Tire until his failing health. 

Born Sept. 30, 1943, in Tremont, Miss., he was a son of 
Cecil and Maggie (Slay) Jones. He married Mary (Myers) Jones 
on Dec. 5, 1974, in Elgin and she survives. 

Services will be held 10 a.m. Wednesday at Hughey Funeral Home 
with the Rev. Larry Jones officiating. Burial will follow at Odd 
Fellows Cemetery in Opdyke. Friends may call 5 to 8 p.m. Tuesday 
at Hughey Funeral Home. 

Survivors include his wife Mary Jones of Opdyke, a son James Jones 
of Benton; a daughter, Trish Jones and husband Aaron of Henderson, 
Nev.; grandsons Luke and Nathan Jones of Valier; granddaughter Teagan 
Jones of Henderson, Nev.; a brother Bob Jones and wife Peggy of Little 
Rock, Ark., sisters Doris Oakley and husband Oliver of Waukegan and 
Janice Jones of Starkville, Miss.; a daughter-in-law, Candy Anderson 
of Valier; and several nieces and nephews. 

He was preceded in death by his parents, a brother Cecil James Jones 
and two sisters, Mary Johnson and Jewel Jones. 

Mr. Jones attended West Side Baptist Church and was saved in the Kingdom 
of God before his death.

and will be accepted at the funeral home or mailed to Hughey Funeral Home, 
P.O. Box 721, Mt. Vernon, IL 62864. Arrangements have been entrusted to
