Dies At Age 68
William Millard Johnson, 68, of Waltonville, died at 3:45 a.m. today
at Good Samaritan Hospital. Mr. Johnson was a tractor operator for the
County Highway Department.
Funeral arrangements are incomplete. The body will lie in state at the
Fry Funeral Home in Waltonville where friends may call after 3:00 p.m. Sunday.
Mr. Johnson was born Sept. 11, 1896, near Waltonville, the son of Asa and
Frances (Dycus) Johnson. On Dec. 27, 1921, he was married to Glada Lemmon,
who survives. He is also survived by three sons, Fred Johnson of Scheller,
Billy Joe Johnson of of Whittier, Calif., and Gene Johnson of Woodlawn; four
daughters, Mrs. Iris Barnhardt of Torrence, Calif., Mrs. Helen McFerron of
St. Louis, Mrs. Marjorie Norris of Waltonville, and Miss Laura Dean Johnson,
at home; a sister, Mrs. Effie Nelson of Mt. Vernon; 10 grandchildren; and
three great-grandchildren.
