HARRY JOHNSON’S MOTHER IS DEAD; FUNERAL MONDAY
Mrs. Lula May JOHNSON of Lincoln, Illinois,
mother of Harry JOHNSON of Mt. Vernon died at 4 p.m.
Friday at Deaconnes Hospital in Lincoln.
She had been a patient at the hospital for the past
month and half. She was 64 years, 11 days old at
the time of her death.
The body will be brought to Myers Chapel where friends
may call after 2 p.m. Sunday. Services will be held at
New Hope Baptist Church on Monday at 2 p.m.
Mrs. Johnson was born in Franklin County, October 18, 1889
the daughter of John and Ellan (WILKERSON) MURPHY.
She married in 1912 in Franklin County to Walker JOHNSON,
who died in March of 1952.
She was a member of New Hope Free Will Baptist Church.
Surviving are three sons, Harry of Mt. Vernon, Curren of
Lincoln and Ralph of Edwardsville; one brother, Eugene MURPHY
of Ewing and one sister, Mrs. Minnie TUCKER of Ewing and six grandchildren.
