At Age 83


Elva Johnson, 83, Route 4, a retired railroad laborer died at 9:55 a.m. 
Saturday in Hickory View Nursing Home.  

Mr. Johnson was born in Illinois Aug. 10, 1897, the son of Nicholas and 
Florence Hayse) Johnson.  He married Lillie Ackley, who died in 1961.

Mr. Johnson was a member of the Ina United Methodist Church.

Funeral services will be held at 1:30 p.m. Tuesday at the Johnston Funeral 
Home in Ina with the Rev. Earl Myers and the Rev. Alberta Lewis officiating.  
Burial will follow in Kirk Cemetery in Ina.

Friends may call after 5 p.m. today at the funeral home.

Survivors include one son, Harry of Ina; two daughters, Mary Atchison and 
Elsie Hays, both of Mt. Vernon; six grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents, 10 brothers and sisters.
