Charles F. Ilbery Jr.
Charles F. Ilbery Jr. of Mt. Vernon died 7:32 a.m. at St. Marys/Good
Samaritan hospital in Mt. Vernon Il.
He was a heavy equipment operator. Mr. Ilbery was born Dec. 5, 1927,
in St. Louis, Mo. to Charles F. Ilbery Sr. and Sarah Marbain Ilbery.
He married Barbara [Garrison} Ilbery Oct. 13, 1956, she survives.
Funeral services will be held 1 p.m. tuesday at Johnston Funeral
Home in Mt. Vernon. Bob Meyer will officiate Burial will follow in
Kirk Cemetery in Ina. Friends may call from 5 to 8 p.m. today at
Johnston Funeral Home in Mt. Vernon.
In addition to his wife he is survived by 4 sons. Charles F.
Ilbery III, and wife Charmaine, Rick Ilbery, and wife Miriam,of Dix.
Joseph wife Lori of Mt. Vernon, and David and Melinda of McLeansboro:
5 daughters, Norma Spencer, and husband John of Springfield, Charlotte
Wertepny and husband Terry of Springfield, Debra Fabris and husband
Vallie of Mt. Vernon, Renee McCormick and companion Manny Whitener, of
Mt. Vernon, and Rebecca Apgar, and husband Steve of Mt. Vernon. 37
Grandchildren and 18 Great-grandchildren. brother Harry Ilbery and
wife Linda of Mt. Vernon. 4 sisters Betty Plemons of Mt. Vernon,
Arlene Plemons of Woodlawn, and Lenore Clark and husband Stan of
Woodlawn: and several neices and nephews.
He was prceded in death by his parents, one daughter Victoria, two
sons Gene and Lloyd; two brothers John and Earl, and two sisters
Mary Sexton and Wilma Ilbery.
Mr. Ilbery loved to ride motorcycles .
